Over 44% of area under malt barley harvested in Belarus
Belarusian agricultural workers have harvested malt barley on 44.4% of the areas, the Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA. As of 8 August the regional breakdown looks the following: 238,700ha (or 69% of the plan) were harvested in Brest Oblast, 81,600ha (22.5%) in Vitebsk Oblast, 172,600ha (49.8%) in Gomel Oblast, 101,200ha (33.2%) in Grodno Oblast, 167,700ha (37.4%) in Minsk Oblast, 102,500ha (30.9%) in Mogilev Oblast. All in all, 3,243,400 tonnes of grain were threshed in Belarus, with the average yield at 37.5 centners per hectare.
