Belarus' harvest reaches 6.7m tonnes of grain

6.7 million tonnes of grain has been threshed in Belarus so far, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry. As of early 22 August, grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from 85.2% of the planned area (1.812 million hectares).

Harvesting was completed on 99.9% of the area (346,000 hectares) in Brest Oblast, 71.4% (253,600 hectares) in Vitebsk Oblast, 87.7% (298,900 hectares) in Gomel Oblast, 84.1% (256,700 hectares) in Grodno Oblast, 87.1% (390,700 hectares) in Minsk Oblast, and 80.5% (266,800 hectares) in Mogilev Oblast.

Belarus threshed 6.779 million tonnes of grain, with the average yield at 37.4 centners per hectare. Last year the average yield at this stage of harvesting was lower, 30.7 centners per hectare.
