Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei gave his take on the idea to set up an election observation authority in the post-Soviet space as he gave an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
The minister was asked whether it is worth developing common standards and setting up an election observation authority in the post-Soviet space. «I think it is worth it.
The idea is floating around. We discussed this topic with my colleagues at some ministerial meetings. There are a number of other proposals related to the development of common approaches in the post-Soviet space with regard to, for example, human rights issues.
