Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi spoke about the trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Russia in 2022 in an interview to STV channel, BelTA has learned. “2022 was a record year in trade with Russia. There were several basic tasks set by the president and the government. The main one was to redirect $6.5 billion worth of trade from the European and Ukrainian markets to Russia.

The Krasnodar branch of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia will be reopened, Belarus' Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi said at a videoconference meeting on 10 August to discuss progress to implement the cooperation roadmap between Belarus and Krasnodar Krai, BelTA has learned. “The Russian government has approved plans to open a branch of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the city of Krasnodar. We are now busy working on this matter,” said Dmitry Krutoi.

When asked about regional cooperation, Dmitry Krutoi said that this was the most basic area and there were no limits to growth. “Last year was record-breaking in this regard, too: 208 mutual high-level visits. These were presidential meetings, trips of the prime minister, our officials — we have never had such a high intensity,” he said.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has appointed Maksim Yermolovich Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration, BelTA has learned. He will take over this job from Dmitry Krutoi who has been appointed Belarus' ambassador to Russia. Maksim Yermolovich has until now worked as Ambassador of Belarus to the UK and concurrently to Ireland, as well as Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization.
