On 29 April, the Institute of National Security hosted the 12th interdepartmental science conference of public outreach apparatuses of state bodies of the national security system of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned. State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

The situation along the border, refugees and army support were discussed by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko at the event to approve the decisions on the protection of the state border in 2023, BelTA has learned. Taking part in the meeting were State Secretary of Belarus' Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich, Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin, Chairman of the State Border Committee Anatoly Lappo, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces — First Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Gulevich. “Although today's event is traditional — at the beginning of every year we take decisions on border protection — yet, the year 2023 is not like any other year, as the situation around Belarus (the military and political situation, and the economic situation as well) is not easy. This is why our today's meeting is special.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with the Internal Affairs Ministry officials to receive a report on the operational situation in the country and the development of the agency, BelTA has learned. The keynote speaker was Internal Affairs Minister Ivan Kubrakov. Attending the meeting were also State Secretary of the Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich and Deputy Internal Affairs Ministers Nikolai Karpenkov and Dmitry Korzyuk.

Belarus will assist Kazakhstan in stabilizing the situation in the country, State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich told BelTA. The state secretary noted that «on 6 January, following the request of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Collective Security Treaty Organization, in view of the threat to the national security and sovereignty of this country caused, among other things, by outside interference, the CSTO Collective Security Council, in accordance with Article 4 of the Collective Security Treaty, decided to deploy the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces to Kazakhstan for a limited period of time in order to stabilize the situation in the country.
